Budget 40 mm fan

AABCOOLING Fan 4 is a 40 mm fan from the AABCOOLING economy series. It runs at a constant speed of 3200 rpm (±10%), and the noise generated by the blades and bearing is approx. 20 dB(A).

The fan uses a sleeve bearing – the simplest and cheapest design, with a shorter service life. For this reason, the warranty on this model is 3 months.

Applications

AABCOOLING Fan 4 can be used as a computer case fan or as a replacement for a noisy power supply fan. Case cooling works by expelling warm air – the power supply fan alone often cannot provide good cooling, despite running at high speed and making a lot of noise.

Mounting and connection

The fan is fixed with four screws, just like standard fans in power supplies (hole spacing 32.5 × 32.5 mm), so a noisy fan can be replaced quickly. Ways to connect it in a power supply:

• connect the fan plug to a 3-pin header,
• the safest option is to cut off the 3-pin plug and solder the power cable directly inside the power supply (voltage control by the power supply),
• you can also take apart the 3-pin plug and connect the fan directly inside the power supply: the black wire is ground, the red is plus (+) and the yellow carries the speed signal (if it is not connected, the BIOS cannot read the speed).

Cutting off or taking apart the plug voids the right to return the product.
