Quiet slim 80 mm fan with FDB bearing

AABCOOLING SLIM Silent Fan 8 is a slim 80 x 80 x 15 mm fan that combines high build quality, quiet operation and an attractive price. It runs at a constant speed of 1600 rpm (±10%), delivers an airflow of 27.45 m³/h, and the noise generated by the blades is only 13.9 dB(A).

Smooth, quiet operation is ensured by a modern FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing), which lasts much longer than sleeve bearings – its service life is 100,000 hours. Mounting screws and silicone anti-vibration pads that reduce vibrations are included.

Applications

Case cooling works by expelling warm air. The power supply fan often cannot manage this on its own, even though it runs at high speed and is loud. AABCOOLING SLIM Silent Fan 8 is suitable:

• on the side or rear panel of a PC case,
• in an ATX computer power supply as a replacement for a noisy fan,
• on a CPU cooler heatsink instead of a noisy 80 mm fan.

Advantages of the FDB bearing

Ordinary sleeve bearings rub against each other and heat up during operation, which significantly shortens their service life.

Mounting and connection

The fan is mounted with 4 screws (hole spacing 70 x 70 mm), just like standard fans in cases and power supplies. In a power supply, it can be connected in two ways:

• To the motherboard – the cable (30 cm) is routed into the power supply through a small gap. The fan speed can then be read in the BIOS.
• Directly inside the power supply – after disassembling the 3-pin connector: the black wire is ground, the red wire is power (+) and the yellow wire carries the speed signal. If the yellow wire is not connected, the BIOS cannot read the fan speed.

Please note: disassembling the 3-pin connector rules out returning the product.
